A man originally found dead in Winnipeg's Daniel McIntyre area has been identified and his death is now being treated as a homicide, Winnipeg police say. 

Bronson Emery Dale Kequahtooway, 30, from Zagime Anishinabek First Nation was found in a back lane off Wellington Avenue, between Home and Arlington Streets on Friday just before 10 a.m., police said in a news release on Monday.

Kequahtooway had been living in Winnipeg, police said.
